My dog has hot spots and is still itchy. Why isn't he healing?

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | 4 years and 4 months old

Trick has 3 hot spots a huge one on his side 1 on his leg one on his tail been treating him for 8 days with elocon ointment and apoquel twice daily he is still itchy and the wounds are still pink and scabby could he be getting more hystiocytoma as he has had 2 removed earlier this year what can I do to get him healed up

With that description, I'm concerned that he has a secondary bacterial infection, which neither elocon or apoquel would fix. I would recommend a quick vet visit to see if he needs oral antibiotics or a medicated bath. As you may know, allergies cause itching but also can cause bacterial or yeast infections and those infections are REALLY itchy - so if he had a flare up, he may need a bit of extra support right now.
