My dog is breathing heavy, not eating, and very tired. What's wrong?

My dog is breathing heavy'she is not eating her food and isn't moving around as much as she did before she lying down most of the day what could it be ?

Poor Jasmine! These symptoms are pretty generalized so it is difficult to speculate on why Jasmine isn't feeling well; lethargy and a decreased appetite could indicate nearly any medical problem. It is the heavy breathing that has me the most concerned. This could indicate a number of serious issues such as a heart condition, ruptured mass, pneumonia, or severe pain. I recommend having Jasmine seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort.
The approach must be logic, starting from offering different kind of food. A check up is needed if inappetence last for more than 24hours.

This is not specific to any disease, but indicates that something is either directly upsetting his stomach, or generally making him feel nauseous and painful. In puppies, I worry about a foreign body ingestion and impaction causing these signs. In order to discover the cause of this problem you will need to take Ceaser to a veterinarian for an evaluation. They can help narrow-down the cause of this and provide treatment to at-least make him feel better. Considering his current condition, I recommend taking him to a vet as soon as possible.

So I do not think Jasmine has a fever. Regardless it sounds like she isn't feeling well. There are many reasons why a dog suddenly won't eat. I see that Jasmine is an older dog and you mentioned she is having trouble walking. She may be in pain or be suffering from a neurologic problem. Other causes for not eating are liver/kidney problems or other metabolic issues; an upset stomach from a virus, a food sensitivity or pancreatitis; or even cancer. Due to her age and the fact that it has been 2 days I recommend you have her evaluated by your Veterinarian. Based on their exam they may want to do blood work and or X-rays. Senior dog lethargic, heavy breathing, spleen tumor? Need second opinion.

It can be very difficult to evaluate x-rays without being on the computer that took them - I can't manipulate the lightness and darkness or zoom in all the way. That being said, I am concerned that there is something very serious going on in Jasmine's liver. It is much, much larger than in a normal dog. I can't see the entire spleen, but the parts that I see appear normal. I can also see that there is some free fluid in her chest cavity - this would be fluid between the lungs and chest wall that can cause trouble breathing. I would recommend re-evaluation immediately with an emergency vet. There could be many things going on, but the heavy breathing you described combined with the abnormalities in the chest have me worried that she may be having severe issues with breathing. This can cause severe anxiety and stress in a dog. The vet will probably want to repeat the x-rays and bloodwork, and may be able to draw off fluid if it is still there to ease her breathing.

My dog is weak, won't eat, and struggles to breathe. What should I do?

Daljais experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently in order to get her checked, if she doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with Dalja.

Poor Jasmine! Yes, if she has vomited that many times and is acting lethargic, I would definitely be concerned that something may be seriously wrong. Vomiting and lethargy are both vague symptoms that could be caused by lots of different things, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine her and run some tests - but I would definitely recommend taking her in to see the vet today.

Josie is precious and I'm sorry to hear that he's not feeling well! It's possible that he's in a considerable amount of pain, as this could be causing not only his limping, but also his lethargy, appetite loss and heavier breathing. It's possible that his runny nose and drooling are associated with heavier panting or nausea. However, it really concerns me that you're seeing this labored breathing. While pain is certainly a very possible cause, other issues, like congestive heart failure, pneumonia or other forms of heart disease could also be causing these breathing changes. At this point, you really do need to take Josie to an emergency vet for evaluation. After a physical exam, the vet will be able to recommend any necessary diagnostic tests, which may include x-rays of the affected leg and/or his chest. Based on all of those results, they'll be able to determine the best course of treatment. This is not a situation that can be managed with home remedies. I hope that he's feeling better soon!

Why is my dog breathing heavily and sitting in the corner?

If you are noticing a change in respiration, she needs to see the veterinarian quickly. Changes in respiration can indicate severe heart disease, fluid in the lungs, pneumonia, tumors in the chest or something impairing the movement in the diaphragm. She may not be laying down because she can't breath well in that position. Respiratory issues should always be checked out quickly. The veterinarian may need a chest x-ray to know whats going on.
