My dog got a lump from her harness. It shrunk. Does she need a vet?

Good on you for having Marley seen by a vet! Given that it's too small to remove at the moment, I would monitor the lump for now. If it gets bigger and stays bigger, then I would have him seen by a vet again. At that point, it may be able to be removed. Should the lump continue to swell and shrink and you are concerned about it, it's certainly ok to have Marley seen by another vet for a second opinion. I hope this helps :-)

This lump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take him to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

I would continue to monitor is for any sudden changes. It should definitely get checked out by a vet in the next few days. Possible causes for this include mammary tumors, tumors not related to the mammary system, infection, or mammary hyperplasia. If it gets suddenly bigger or there is any discharge, I would see a vet sooner.

It does not appear to be actively bleeding or infected so as long as it is not causing her pain or discomfort (reduced appetite, crying if handled, avoiding being petted) then I would happy it would be stable to wait overnight

If it doesn't seem painful, it's staying the same size and if Beau is acting completely normal, I don't think it's an emergency. I would get him examined this week. Once the area is palpated, the veterinarian will have a much better idea what it is and then treatment will be discussed. If it seems painful or changing, or Beau seems to be not himself, I recommend to get him in right away. Check it every day and lightly press around on it to check for pain. This little lump is likely something benign like a skin tag or similar, but I always recommend that if an owner notices changes in color, size or shape of a lump, especially if it is growing quickly, that it be evaluated by your veterinarian. If you are very concerned it would not be wrong to request that the lump be removed, then it can be submitted for review by a pathologist to let you know exactly what it is. You could always arrange to have Mieya's teeth cleaned at the same time, small breed dogs are prone to dental disease and this is a good age to start preventative dental care!
