My dog isn't eating, keeps gagging, and seems to have something stuck.

It sounds as Romeo is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

It sounds like DanDan may be in a bit of distress and may have something stuck in his throat. Other causes could include irritation of the throat or lungs either from eating something, infection, etc. If he seems in distress and is continually trying to vomit, cough, or gag without results, bringing him to a vet ASAP for an exam is best, especially if he is also lethargic and not acting himself.

What you described can be consistent with an upper respiratory tract infection. The dog will commonly cough, gag and may bring up a white foamy material. Hi, poor Romeo. Does he seem to have a temperature ? Are his ears warm to touch ? Are his gums a little pinker than usual ? He could have picked up something, a bacteria for example. Look out for any specific symptoms, offer fresh water and keep him comfortable. I would recommend to have him checked over when your vet is open. Hope this helps !

Unfortunately the symptoms you have described could be caused by many things. Without being able to perform a physical exam on Fluffy it is is very hard for me to tell you what exactly could be going on. If Fluffly ate something he should that got stuck, he may need surgery to remove it from his stomach or intestines. The gagging and wheezing could mean that something is stuck, that there is an infection, or even something stuck in his throat. The not wanting to jump up could indicate belly pain or pain in his back or legs. Continue to monitor Fluffy for eating, drinking, urination, and bowel movements. If he is not feeling better in 24-48 hours, he really needs to see a vet.
