My dog had Advocate two weeks ago. Can I give Frontline for ticks?

Since it's been two weeks, yes it's fine to apply the Advantix now. I would also give Barney Capster. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas in 30 minutes. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps.

It is typically ok to space out flea/tick prevention by 2 weeks time span. I would recommend waiting the entire 14 days before using the Nexgard. The bath likely didn't strip any of the product off. If you do happen to see fleas on Dexter before the 14 day mark, you can safely give him a Capstar tablet (from your local pet store) which can rid the fleas off of him within 1 hr, but is not considered to be a flea preventative. Yes, if you feel that you need additional flea protection, you can use a topical and an oral preventative at the same time. I do recommend that you separate them by 2 weeks. This is not because of toxic interactions but just to help overlap the coverage.

Either can be combined and given at any time with Frontline. They do make better, longer acting flea control pills such as Nexgard or Simparica that you give monthly or Bravecto that is given every 3 months
