My dog's front leg bends weirdly when lying down. Is it okay?

On the pictures you posted Bruno's legs look normal. I cannot see any abnormal stance or bend legs. However, jf the legs bend in abnormal way while he is walking, you will have to take him to your local vets to get the x-rays done of the legs.

Hello, thank you for your question about Yusi. It is possible that this could be benign and could be a comfortable position for Yusi to eat in. It is also possible that she is favoring one leg because of discomfort/pain. However, if this was the case I would expect her to be limping or showing discomfort while walking or during other parts of the day. If this is the case I would recommend having Yusi seen by a veterinarian to help assess for any bone pain or other abnormalities. I can definitively see an abnormal angle on the front right leg but as I said on the other answer, this doesn't necessary mean is elbow dysplasia. Hopefully it isn't! Unfortunately, the only way to diagnose it or exclude it would be with an orthopedic examination and few X-rays of the involved joints. Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. If he continues to not bear any weight on that leg, then he will need to see his veterinarian. He will likely need x-rays to ensure that he did not fracture his leg. In the meantime, keep him very quiet to allow his body to rest. Carry him if he needs to move. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!

Hi! Thanks for entrusting us with Bentley's care today! Lameness and/or possible leg pain and shaking can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. Treatment will be dependent on findings though at the very least pain control medications can be prescribed. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Bruno's leg looks like it is in a normal position to me. Sometimes dogs that have knee pain will sure with their knees falling out to the side and slightly extended, but Bruno's leg does not appear to be in that position. Dogs with hip dysplasia can have an abnormal gait when walking or can hop with both legs together when running. If you're concerned that Bruno isn't walking normally you should have him examined by your vet.

What a cutie she is! Some dogs do lay in funny positions. If she seems to walk normally and has no lameness I wouldn't be concerned by her laying down this way, but if she hasn't been to the vet with you already I would make an appointment for them to look her over and palpate the hips to be safe, and at that time they can get her up to date on vaccines if she isn't already as well as test her for intestinal parasites and deworm her (she looks like she could be underweight based on this photo but it is difficult to say without being able to put our hands on her).
