My dog has fleas and ticks. Are injectable treatments safe for him?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 14 days old

My local vet has told me that there's an anti tick and flee serum that's given under the skin for exreme cases. And recently I have found a lot of fleas and ticks in my dog. Should I give it to my dog or will it be unhealthy for him?

I would recommend pursuing other options such as topical anti-flea medication similar to frontline or advantage or even an oral medication such as Nexguard These tend to be safer for dogs your puppies age and have less side effects.
