Why is my dog's elbow hygroma hard after vet drained it?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year old | 88 lbs

hi doctor i have a lab [14months old] ...he is suffering from hygroma.. i have tried everything...but there was no response from him... so i called a vet..who injected Genticyn in his hygroma elbow ...and yesterday he removed the fluid by syringe and today his hygroma has become very hard ...can you tell me why ...

Hygromas never go away on their own; even with surgery they often don't heal well. It is best to leave them alone. I don't know why the hygroma got hard after the injection. I assume his body is having a reaction. If you want to have it removed then the vet must surgically remove the hygroma. You will need to put padding down (soft bedding) so he doesn't continue to lay on hard surfaces.
