Why does my dog have dark spots on her belly after giving birth?

If the darkened skin appeared around where she had a spay incision, it may be that the tissue darkened some during the healing process, she naturally had some darker patches that weren't visible before shaving the area, or you are seeing the spay scar from the incision itself, especially if it was done recently. If the area is bothersome to Zeytin, or is very itchy or rapidly changing in appearance, that could indicate something such as a brewing infection or allergy that should be checked out by your vet.

A common cause of darkened skin in these areas is from chronic inflammation, which could be caused by fleas, flea allergies, food allergies, bacterial or yeast infections, etc. I would recommend starting Cookie on a monthly flea preventative if she isn't already, and checking in with your vet to see what could be going on.

That may be just normal pigmentation changes. If the skin feels, or looks rougher than normal, if there are scabs or if she itches those areas then I would be more concerned. I hope this was helpful!

This looks like normal pigmentation to me however it could also be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from an infection. I wouldn’t be overly worried but I suggest you use these medicated wipes on the pigmented areas daily for 7-10 days. If no change then it’s either normal or you should have your vet check it. This looks like hyperpigmentation. It typically occurs in lightly pigmented, sparsely haired regions as dogs get older. It can also be caused my inflammation so just make sure she is not spending too much time sunbathing and that there are no other signs like licking/scratching/lesions. Hi, pigmentation of the skin can change as dogs get older and it is usually nothing to be concerned about. Unless it is something associated with itchiness or inflammation of the skin. In this case it could mean another underlying condition is present that would need to be diagnosed and treated accordingly. Hope this helps !
