Dog coughing, breathing hard, peeing inside. What can I do at home?

This cannot be treated at home without knowing what is going on. I recommend that you have Milo evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. Treatment would be dependent on findings. Good luck and have a good night!

Coughing, especially when accompanied by nasal discharge, can be a sign of an upper respiratory infection. However, it can also be a sign of a lower respiratory issue, such as pneumonia and it is concerning that Honey has some episodes of lethargy, as this indicates that she is not feeling well. I recommend having her seen by a vet as soon as possible to determine what is going on and begin the appropriate treatment. I hope Honey starts feeling better soon!

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. With these symptoms I am very worried about what could be going on with Miss Piggy. If she was exhibiting respiratory problems last night and then fell over, she could have passed out due to lack of oxygen / blood to the brain. I would be worried about primary heart disease / failure and respiratory disease that has lead to these symptoms. Seeing that Miss Piggy is older in the photos, heart disease and respiratory disease are definitely my top suspicions. I would strongly recommend that you get her seen by an emergency veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have her blood tested and have x-rays taken of her chest to see what is going on. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do in the meantime for her if this is her heart or respiratory disease. Coughing can be caused by primary lung disease, such as pneumonia, asthma, or cancer; problems with the heart; and diseases of the trachea or windpipe itself. If Nacho is improving at home, you can likely continue to monitor him for any progression or worsening of his clinical signs. If he is eating and drinking normally at home, and acting normally, it is less likely that he is sick with something like pneumonia. If he continues to cough, however, I recommend having him seen by your veterinarian, to evaluate for any evidence of underlying heart disease or potential asthma. It could be a respiratory infection, it could be a collapsing trachea, it could be kennel cough, or it could be something more serious like heart disease. I'd have her seen by a vet in the morning for this problem. The vet can diagnose what is causing it, and can treat her. I hope this helps!

If Decoder is already on an antibiotic then that would ideally be helping for something infectious like kennel cough or pneumonia. My worry is the heart murmur and a new cough. She should be seen by your Vet for an exam and X-rays of her chest to check for congestive heart failure. Blood work can help figure out the increased thirst. Try to bring urine if you can. Causes for increased thirst are: cushings, diabetes, cancer, kidney or liver failure, UTI (less likely since she is on an antibiotic). I hope this helps and I wish you and Decoder the best!

Making sure the home's air filter is changed every year is also a good idea and can help decrease some of the irritating allergens in the air. Using a harness on her instead of a lead and collar around the neck can help lessen stress around airways. Lastly, making sure she is in cool moist air and limiting time spent in hotter weather can help as well. If Tia's symptoms worsen or do not improve, a veterinary visit really is best in order to obtain a diagnosis so Tia can receive the most appropriate care and treatment. Causes of breathing difficulties are many and include heart conditions, certain lung conditions such as asthma or bronchitis, as well as upper respiratory infection, collapsing tracheal disorders, or primary lung tumors.
