My dog broke a tooth and is still in pain. What can I do to help?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My street dog recently got hurt and broke his tooth which is hurting him a lot. Though by doctor's advide, we mixed pain killer with milk and made him drink. He's obviously better now than before but still in pain. Also by calling vet twice, no response was shown as he hiding and not allowing them to come near him. Any suggestion would help.

I hate to hear this is happening. Typically broken teeth are removed because they can lead to infection and abscesses in the mouth:

I recommend to discuss having this done. Until then make all food and water room temperature. I hope this helps.
