This can be caused by severe infection with intestinal parasites, organ failure and enlargement, internal bleeding, and possibly even a pyometra (infection of the uterus). Poor Dixon. I am quite concerned about his stomach being bloated, and it could potentially be a growth of some sorts causing it. It could be he may have heart disease which also causes bloating and panting. I would take him into a vet asap to get checked out. Best of luck.
