My dog has black specks, red belly, won't eat, whines. What's wrong?

This could be a symptom of many things. The black spots are comedones (like clogged pores). The hair loss appears to be from a flea allergy but could also be hormonal. I suggest the following: 1. Flea medication if you have not already been applying some to her. I would suggest this one that you apply EVERY month. Hi and thanks for posting! Thank you for sending along a picture as well. From your picture, it looks to me like comedones or otherwise known as blackheads which occur when the hair follicle becomes clogged. Usually these can be treated with certain medicated shampoos that contain benzoyl peroxide in them to help flush out the follicle. Be sure to purchase these shampoos from your veterinarian as dogs can be especially sensitive to human shampoos and other human hygiene products. I hope this helps!

Hello. These are comedones, essentially black heads, & they are commonly associated with dogs that have allergies. You can try bathing CJ in a benzoyl peroxide product ( shampoo or gel ) for its follicle flushing properties. Bathe weekly & make sure you leave the shampoo on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing. Those black spots look like comedones (aka: blackheads). I suggest you use this shampoo that contains benzoyl peroxide. Lather the affected areas (no need to do the whole dog), let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse throughly. Do this every 2-3 days until they are gone. Those are blackheads (comedones). They usually do not cause a problem, as I said yesterday. Washing her with a medicated shampoo that contains Benzoyl Peroxide (not hydrogen peroxide) is recommended as that will help to unclog the pores. Do not squeeze them out. Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! From the picture, these black dots on Pokey's abdomen appear to me like comedones or better known as 'black heads'. You can try using a dog friendly shampoo than is Benzoyl peroxide based such as Vetoquinol Benzoyl-Plus Shampoo for Dogs and Cats. You can get this online or through your veterinarian. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Judging from the pictures I suspect what you are seeing are blackheads. I would recommend using a shampoo called Dermabenz to help remove these. You can find this shampoo online quite easily and bathe twice weekly until resooved. If the condition does not improve or it worsens then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
