My dog keeps biting a skin tag. Is it serious? What can I do?

From the looks of the pictures, they look like benign adenomas or skin tags which are common in older dogs. If she is chews at them, you could try 50mg (2 tablets) of adult benadryl twice a day to help with the itching. You can also place a cone collar on her to prevent the chewing. If the chewing won't stop, any of them start to look infected, or any of them are getting bigger, then I would recommend to see a vet to ensure they do not look cancerous.

It appears to be a small mass or skin tag. You can place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further licking or chewing. This may be enough to allow healing. If not, have him examined by your veterinarian. If the spot has become infected, Ghost may need antibiotics. Anti-inflammatory medication may provide relief. A simple fine needle aspirate can also be done in the clinic to collect samples for pathology if indicated. This may provide a diagnosis.

This lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. I would highly recommend taking Bella to a vet for an aspirate as soon as possible. My concern if the mass gets bigger and smaller is a possible mast cell tumor. This is a type of skin cancer and the mass should be removed. Your vet should be able to place a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under a microscope to determine what it is. IF the mass is only a cyst/non cancerous growth it does not have to be surgically removed. However if you feel like it is hurting her/causing discomfort I would recommend removing it

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately we cannot diagnose a mass based on looks alone. We don't know if this mass got irritated and is inflammed/infected and grew because of this, or if it is growing in size due to the nature of the tumor. I would recommend making an appointment for Gotham's vet to look at the growth. In the meantime, if he is licking the area put an e-collar (the cone shaped collar) on him to prevent this which could introduce bacteria and irritation. You can put a topical antibiotic ointment onto the area until you are seen. The fact that it is growing quickly in size would make me personally recommend removing the growth, especially since he is bothering at it. Another option would be to do a cytology of the growth, where some cells are collected and looked at under the microscope to help identify the nature of the growth. Best of luck to you and Gotham.

If you have some hydrocortisone cream, I would just rub a bit into the skin several times a day. This looks like it could be a growth and it's clearly bothering him if he's biting at it. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed.
