My dog scratches almost constantly and bites at one spot on his leg to the point it's discolored. He does NOT have fleas. Could this be a food allergy? If so, what food would you recommend?

Food allergies can cause scratching and itching. A 12week food trial of a hydrolyzed diet or limited ingredient sensitive diet can help to explore the extent of her symptoms that are triggered by food. No treats, snacks or flavoured tablets can be fed during this trial
