My dog ate too much Benadryl. Is an overdose harmful? What to do?

My 6lb Chihuahua accidentally got a hold of my other dogs allergy meds 4 -25 mg Benadryl will it hurt her?

Benadryl certainly can have some toxic effects in higher doses. And Nellie got a much higher dose than normal. At that dose, we certainly can see hyperexcitability including increased heart rate and muscle tremors. The safest option if Nellie just ate the pills would be to go to your veterinarian right away and have them make her vomit the pills. You may also consider consulting with the Pet Poison Helpline depending on when she ate the pills.
