My dog's back sores are bleeding from licking. How do I stop it?

Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further licking or chewing. This may be enough to allow for healing. Keep the area clean and dry. If it doesn't heal or if it grows or spreads, have Barnaby physically examined by your veterinarian. He may need antibiotics or further diagnostics, such as a fine needle aspirate or biopsy, if it is a lump or mass.

Poor Jada! It could be she injured herself causing the sore. It's not good that she keeps licking it, so I would put an Ecollar on her to stop that. I can put a link below on how to make one at home. If he is a little dog- do you have a disposable plastic bowl that you could cut the back out of to make a makeshift E-collar ? If he's large a plastic trash can can work. It should be long enough that his nose doesn't push past or it won't prevent him from licking. Also warm compressignthe area may make him more comfortable until you can be seen for antibiotics and pain management. Poor Akeilles, I hope he improves soon!

Your poor pup! He could really hurt himself if he keeps trying to chew it off, and the area can become infected. The tumor will likely still keep growing and causing him these issues, so I recommend taking him into a vet today. This tumor needs to be removed so that he stops trying to chew it off. I would recommend a plastic cone to go around Kali's head to prevent her from licking / chewing at the sore. She will likely need an ointment more effective than neosporin. I would recommend buying a plastic cone at the pet store and using an ointment such as Zymox topica ointment. If the sore worsens I would then schedule an examination with your veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made.
