My dog ate moldy food from the bin. When should I call the vet?

  It is likely your dog is going to experience some digestive upset such as vomiting and diarrhea. Removing food and offering a bland meal in a few hours of boiled rice and chicken may help. If your dog is very ill for more than a day, or has other symptoms such as cognitive changes, loss of balance, seizure or loss of consciousness, it is best to contact your local vet or an emergency clinic immediately. Bringing in a sample of some of the moldy food to your vet may help them in determining any care needed.

  Withhold food for 12 hours then offer her boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days.
  
  After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food.
  
  If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

  Poor pup! More than likely, he is going experience a lot of GI upset from this. You will likely see vomiting and diarrhea, and I will give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps his stomach if that occurs. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.
