My dog accidentally took Pexion. Should I take her to the vet?

The active ingredient in pexion can have a few mild and usually temporary side effects such as increased thirst, hyperactivity, hypersalivation etc. I have never heard of it causing breathing issues explicitly, but it could be a side effect. I wouldnt worry about it overly though as it sounds like Jasmine is ok orherwise.

Based on the amount Ginger ate, 200mg is around four times the maximum dose for proxetil. When a dog has an overdose of this drug, it causes vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, and bruising easily. While there have been safety studies showing the drug well-tolerated in dogs given 10 times the maximum dose, every dog does react different and it's best that she is evaluated and treated by a vet right away. I'd recommend taking her into an ER vet now for treatment to be safe. Because I can't see her in person to say for certain she will be ok, I will always recommend immediate treatment in these cases. Pexion starts to work within a few hours and reaches steady state within three days. So that means you will see full effect pretty soon. Keep in mind that Pexion has been introduced to the market and indicated only for idiopathic epilepsy so for other kind of causes efficacy can be variable. I am sorry to hear about your concern for Hallie. It is unlikely with a one time extra dose of her previcox that we will see any major concerns. The most common side effect would be GI upset such as vomiting, decreased appetite, or diarrhea. While Dexilant isn't a drug regularly used in veterinary medicine, I found information that states "According to toxicity studies there was no effect from the drug on dogs when given at a dose of 5mg per kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight for several days in a row." Hi, Gabapentin overdose can cause sedation and drowsiness and its effect should gradually disappear over the next 12 hours. If Bunty is excessively sedated I would ring your closer vets to have her checked over. Hopefully she has not eaten it !
