Kevin Sanada, is wheat, corn, byproducts and soy bad in dog food? Why is there such a stigma around these ingredients?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. In one word, the answer is marketing! If these products were so bad, why are they fit for human consumption? Dogs are not true carnivores, as cats are. Dogs are omnivores & consume all types of plant materials, berries, etc., in the wild. These products are digestable, nutritious, & keep the costs down on dog foods. Most people can not afford a $ 20.00 steak every night!
