Secondly, this is a drug that needs to be avoided in nursing moms because of potential side effects it can have in young puppies. This drug is not safe in neonates and can cause problems with the teeth in these young pups. Most dogs who give birth naturally and even with C-sections are not prescribed pain medications. In the US the FDA has not approved for use in lactating or pregnant animals. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatorys are excreted in the milk. I would suggest not using it until you speak with your Vet. I hope this helps and good luck!

There is actually very little communication between the eyes & the rest of the body, so there is very little chance of absorption of the medication by the developing kittens. In addition, a fetus is most susceptible to drugs in the first trimester, so for a cat, this is the first 3 weeks of a pregnancy. You need to treat the eye to prevent further infection & possible permanent damage to your cat's eye.. The kittens will be fine. Take care.
