The pregnancy duration in dogs is typically around 60-63 days. Your vet will be able to detect fetal heartbeats using an ultrasound when she is around 25-30 days. Also, your vet can take an x-ray to count the number of puppy skeletons when she is around 40 days pregnant. It's helpful to know how many puppies are present prior to birth so you can make sure she delivers all of them.

Best of luck to you and your Chihuahua clan!

At 30 days, that's too early to feel any puppies moving inside Mia's belly, you wouldn't be able to feel them until at least seven weeks of pregnancy. There is no way to tell at home if she is pregnant or not, you would need to take her into the vet. I would wait until at least 45 days after she was mated, then take her in for x-rays. The vet can diagnose if she is pregnant and how many puppies she is carrying. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Canine gestation is reliably 63-65 days. If she took in day one that would mean that around the 22/24 of
November would be the time frame. Typically at this point they should have some milk production. Is she showing any other signs of pregnancy? Weight gain? You may consider having her evaluated by a veterinarian to see if she is pregnant not. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
