Why is my chihuahua's belly bloated and she's crying in pain?

It is possible that Roo could be pregnant? It could also be she has a pyometra (an infection of the uterus), which would also cause her stomach to look bigger and her to drink more water. I would have her checked out by a vet in the next few days as long as she is acting normally. Take her into an ER immediately if she starts vomiting, stops eating, becomes very lethargic, or has discharge from her vulva. Best of luck.

Poor Chaca! It's very concerning when I hear of a dog that has sudden bloat and a hard belly, not to mention an abnormal stomach. She could have bloat, which is a fatal condition without treatment. I would have Chaca seen by a vet immediately for this, as it is a medical emergency.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that Stella isn't behaving like normal- it does sound like she could have some abdominal pain and/or weakness with what you're describing. Poor Clementine! There could be a couple of things causing her pain. I'm not sure if she is spayed or not, but if she is intact, then it could be she has a pyometra causing her pain. A pyometra is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It could also be that she has injured herself, has pancreatitis, or could have a tumor. Because I can't see her in person to rule these things out, which are extremely serious, I think it's best she sees a vet now. The vet can diagnose the cause of her pain, and can treat her for it. It sounds like something is causing her discomfort. She should really be examined by a vet, if it continues. She could have a problem with her back, neck, or abdomen causing her some pain. Your vet can do a thorough physical examination to localize the problem and then treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory or pain medications. Hope she feels better soon.

Poor girl. She may have an overly full stomach or potentially an enlarged organ. It is really hard to say for sure without an exam. Pets this small don't get bloat, so that is not a concern. Based on her symptoms of just seeming uncomfortable, I would let her rest tonight and then if she still seems out of sorts in the morning, it is best to get her seen by your vet. The vet needs to feel her belly to try and pinpoint the source of pain and discomfort so that we best know how to treat this moving forward. She sounds uncomfortable but stable for now and so the best thing is to make her comfortable with nice soft bedding let her try and rest until morning. If she will tolerate a warm Epsoms salt soaking bath, then you can also try that. However, if she does seem to pace and develop more symptoms (vomiting, restlessness, diarrhea, etc) tonight, then its best to take her to an ER vet for further evaluation. It is difficult to determine the cause without an examination but abdominal enlargement can be caused by a variety of medical conditions including an accumulation of fluid, organ enlargement, Cushings disease, etc. You should schedule an examination with a vet to determine if there is a medical problem that needs to be treated. Your vet can run blood-work and take x-rays to help determine the cause.
