Why does my boxer puppy have vaginitis, hair loss, and itchy skin?

Oh dear, poor Winter! The pimple-like bumps on her skin look most suspicious for a bacterial skin infection (pyoderma), which can develop as a result of excessive licking or scratching since this damages the skin. The licking and scratching can result from underlying allergies to fleas, food, or environmental factors, in addition to mange, ringworm, or even vaginitis or a urinary tract infection in this case since Winter has some yellow vulvar discharge. Discomfort from itchiness can lead to a decreased appetite, and underlying allergies can also cause bloodshot eyes. At this point, your best bet is to take Winter to her vet for evaluation since she may need to have a urinalysis to determine if a urinary tract infection is present, as well as antibiotics and anti-itch medications or medicated shampoos to help manage her skin issues. Also be sure that she is receiving a high quality flea and tick preventative, such as Nexgard or K9 Advantix II (she is both old enough and large enough for either of these medications) in case fleas are part of the problem. These are probably pustules from a minor skin infection. Since she is not spayed, she may continue to get these due to underlying increase of hormones. If she is not a breeding bitch you should have her spayed which will hopefully stop them from recurring. Hi there! Puppies get "puppy pyoderma" often which often presents as you have shown in the pictures. This is very common, and easy to treat. Sometimes antibiotics are not required and they go away on their own. If the rash spreads, etc. you can always make an appointment to see your veterinarian to make sure fleas or allergies are not contributing factors! My best to you an Milli. Hope this helps!

It sounds like Katella could have a skin infection going on. This can be caused by yeast or bacteria, is often secondary to skin allergies, and can lead to hair falling out easily, crusting or flaking of the skin, pimples, and itchiness potentially. I would have katella evaluated by a veterinarian. They can recommend medicated shampoos and topical treatments as well as oral antibiotics if necessary. Her skin will hopefully be back to normal in no time!

It looks like your puppy could have a pyoderma skin infection or possibly parasites causing the bumps around her vulva, ears and paw. I would guess that the discharge from your vulva that you are seeing is from vaginitis, but a urinary tract infection would also be possible. The loss of balance is concerning and could be due to an inner ear issue or a neurologic problem, although puppies this age are normally not very coordinated so it may also be normal for her. I would definitely recommend seeing your veterinarian for these issues - after a physical exam they may or may not recommend checking a urinalysis. They can prescribe medications for the skin issues if necessary.

This presentation could be due to a localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem.
