Best food for my 4-month pitbull puppy to grow big and buff?

You want to make sure to feed a high quality diet. You also need to make sure that the growth is slow and consistent. If your puppy grows too quickly, it will be more likely to develop conditions like hip dysplasia. The diet I recommend for my large breed puppies is Royal Canin Large Breed Puppy. It will ensure even growth and the diet is highly digestible. This diet can be purchased at many pet stores or online. Proper exercise is also important but remember not to start jogging with a large breed puppy until they are at least a year old. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach! The food I mostly recommend is Science Diet. I have used their food for over 20 years in my own pets and have never had a problem with their food. My own dog was on their food for 20 years and did very well. He maintained an excellent body condition, hair coat was amazing and he loved very long. I contribute his longevity to a good diet and good care as well. If you are opposed to Science Diet, I also recommend Royal Canin, Natural Balance and Purina One. There are so many foods out there and it is easy to get caught up in the marketing game of "natural", "organic" and "grain free". As long as your dog is on a well balanced and complete diet is what matters the most. I typically recommend feeding a puppy food for the first 12 months and then switching to an adult food from 12 months to 7 years of age. Beyond 7 years I recommend a senior formula. You should feed a good quality brandname puppy food for medium sized dogs. This will have enough protein to make appropriate muscle in your puppy. If you get too much muscle at his age his bones may not be strong enough for it. So it is better to let him grow slowly. Give him lots of exercise appropriate for his age. If you think he still does not have enough muscle at the age of 1 1/2 years you should take him to a vet for a general exam and assessment. If all is well then you can feed the adult version of the food you are feeding or go to a veterinary nutritionist and have a healthy ration calculated for what you want. Do not overfeed protein at this age as it will be detrimental to his bone development and may compromise kidney function. His muscle mass will vary while he is growing, he will have more one day and less another until the body is fully grown.

Royal Canin, Science Diet and Eukanuba are all good balanced diets. Also, consider neutering Rio at this age and switching him to an adult diet from a puppy diet after the neuter. Milo should have teeth by now so either a starter puppy food from a high quality brand like Royal Canin, Eukanuba or Hills Science diet . Make sure it's a puppy Large Breed food as well. Natural Balance is also a relatively good brand of food as well. You may have to do canned food for a few weeks if puppy has a hard time with the dry kibble. It's quite a difficult question as a lot depends on what you would consider affordable. Bearing in mind that more expensive foods usually work out similar as you end up feeding less. Personally for puppies I would try and give them the best at least at the start. I really like royal canin or alternatively Hill's made for the breed size.
