My 12-day-old puppy is weak, bloated, and seems to be dying. Help!

In many cases those orphans unfortunately do not survive. You need to make sure to feed him puppy milk replacer only, anything else and he doesn't have a chance of survival. You also need to make sure he is pooping, if he isn't you need to stimulate his anal area with a warm wet cotton several times a day .

He needs to be checked by a vet to make sure he did not aspirate any milk or have any pneumonia. Make sure he stays warm and you can try to bottle feed the puppy in order to ensure he gets enough nutrients

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Mama! She is super cute! I would take Mama to an Emergency hospital and have her looked at as soon as you can. Anytime there is concern for breathing it could be life threatening, especially if she is also weak. Puppies can suffer from low blood sugar which can make them weak. The fast breathing could be from a fever, pneumonia, or pain. The distended belly may or may not be related. She could just have worms. The best thing for Mama is to have a Vet do an exam. I recommend you have him rechecked by a vet as soon as possible - although you do not mention his age or breed a 5ml feed of liquids should not cause bloating in a 5week old pup and it is vital he receive nutrition immediately in order to grow and develop. Contact the bluecross centre also to see if they have had any similar issues with his siblings

If all the puppies are affected and some are dying, it would be best to seek veterinary care in person immediately. It is possible they have all contracted something, have an illness or injury, or some other issue going on which needs to be seen and treated by a vet ASAP, especially if they are in visible pain, not thriving, turning blue or purple or are passing away.

I would recommend a vet check to determine if there are nay underlying medical causes but the fact she eats well is a good sign. Monitor for regular stools and no pain or vomiting and ensure she is dewormed regularly with an appropriate puppy wormer (every 2-4 weeks depending on the product). Keep her isolated from other dogs (especially dog parks etc) until she is fully up to date with her vaccines
