Another option, which may not be possible and might sound insane, would be getting a second kitty. Ginger just may need a friend to keep her company when you aren't around. There are also pharmaceutical interventions that can be given if what Ginger is experiencing is truly anxiety. She will eventually outgrow it but I can sympathize. You're doing the right thing by playing with her a lot, but you should also provide plenty of ways for her to amuse herself. Make sure she has plenty of hiding places, things to scratch on, perches where she can see outside, and toys. Get her a stuffed toy that is roughly her size so she has something she can wrestle with like another kitten.
