Sphynx cat has red bumps & vomiting after new food. Is it an allergy?

This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Pixie regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cyclosporin in order to stop the allergy.

It could be a severe skin infection or an acute allergic reaction. I would recommend a vet check up so that she can get some treatment on board. These reactions can be quite painful and cause itchiness. Vomiting could also be a sign of allergic reaction, leave water down but no food until you see your vet. I would arrange a visit this morning, if possible.

Congrats on your new cat, but I'm sorry Puma isn't doing well! This scratching can be caused by fleas, mites, ringworm, or allergies. If she isn't up to date on her flea treatment, she will need a spot on treatment such as Advantage or Revolution. You will need to disinfect the environment as well. If she is up to date on her flea treatment, I recommend taking her into the vet for an exam tomorrow. The vet can do blood tests, skin scrapings, and use a Wood's lamp to diagnose allergies, mites, and ringworm. Once the cause of the itching is found, the vet can prescribe the appropriate treatment.

From the picture it looks like Neve may have a skin infection. This could be bacterial or something fungal such as ringworm. I suppose there could be a good connection if she has an allergy to the new food, but that may take a while to sort out. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. The infectious component would have to be taken care of but it is crucial to take care of the possible allergy as well so this does not continue to happen. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests. Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

It is possible that Proust is having an allergic reaction or allergy causing the little pimples. The 3 types of allergies in young cats are food, environtment or flea. I recommend applying flea prevention every 30 days. You can try to use glass feeding dishes that you clean often and avoid cat food with fish or beef in it. If Proust will let you, you can try to give him a medicated bath too. However if this is not improving I recommend taking him to the vet for a good exam. It is possible the pimples are infection and need antibiotics to resolve

It is possible to be from a food allergy or an environmental allergy. This may be the cause of her vomiting as well.
