My senior cat returned home sick after missing. What should I do?

I would be very concerned your cat could have been injured during her time away from home, and I consider her signs a medical emergency. You need to take her into a vet immediately to get checked out. Best of luck.

Poor Hazel. The main things I would look for is if she stops eating or starts vomting or having diarrhea. Cats that run off for a while may have been bitten or injured while gone. Although you don’t see any obviously punctures, I would watch for any swellings anywhere. An abscess could always form over the next week from a previous injury where the skin already healed. Let her rest but her activity should pick up after a few days of sleeping. I hope this helps and she has a full recovery.

The wound doesn't look infected or Bloody more like a scrape that has removed hair. I would simply keep him warm and comfortable until you get to the vets. Try and feed little and often as they can over indulge when they gave been away a while.

If Molly was missing for one week, it could be she was injured or became ill on her adventure. It's extremely serious she has had no appetite for two days. When a cat doesn't eat going on 72 hours, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. This is something that needs to be seen by a vet now, I would consider this a medical emergency. Your kitty is not feeling well. I suggest you take her to a veterinarian for a check up and blood tests. She may be ill, and therefore defensive when the other cats come near her. She may also need special food to gain weight properly .

Probably severe dehydration is her main issue at this time. She may also have developed a liver condition called hepatic lipidosis which occurs when cats don't eat for many days. Is also possible that she was injured when she was out and missing, and she may have some pain and or an infection related to that. Take her in to the vet as soon as you can today!
