What are the safest cat treats for training and increasing activity?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 years and 5 months old | 14 lbs

Hi! I want to get my cat to be more active and I saw some videos online on how to get them to do tricks and other random things. The question is which brand of treats would be good to give him? I don’t want to get something that might cause him issues. Thanks!

It's great that you want to work on some training with Boomer! Most cats really enjoy this - and despite what people often say, they're very trainable if you're patient and have tasty rewards :)

There are lots of good options available for training treats. Personally, I like Temptations, Blue Wilderness, and Zukes brand soft treats for training. You can also use tiny dollops of canned food as a training reward, if he prefers this.
