Are primroses safe for cats if placed on a high shelf in my room?

I have 3 cats that stay indoors. Yesterday I bought Primroses to temporarily keep in my room until spring comes. I just saw online that Primroses are toxic for cats. If I put the Primroses on a shelf up high off the ground, would it be okay to keep them in my room? Or would it still be toxic to my cats? My cats always hang out in my room, but I haven't had any issues with them jumping onto my shelves.

Ultimately this depends on your comfort level. In my opinion if the cats have any time at home/in your room that is unsupervised I would be worried about having the primroses out. Cats are curious animals and may try to jump onto the shelves to investigate the new addition. However, if you are home all the time with them or keep them out of your room while you're away, I don't think it would be wrong to keep the flowers.

If a cat ingests a lot of the plant it can experience drooling, GI upset, breathing problems, high heart rate and neurologic signs like seizures. Roses themselves are not toxic to cats, but the thorns can scratch Queen, and eating the leaves and stems could cause her GI upset. In addition, if there are any pesticides spayed on the roses, those would toxic to her.

Are pachyphytum succulents toxic to cats? How to keep them safe.

I'm finding some information to suggest that yes they could be toxic to cats, but not a definitive answer to your question. My recommendation is to keep your pachyphytum succulent out of reach of your cat to keep Jackson from chewing at it. You can keep in up on a high shelf or in a cage to keep him away from it. If you want to plant it outside, I recommend not doing it if he is allowed outside. Hope this helps!

Are rhododendron/azalea on my shoes toxic if my cat rubs them?

I don't think you need to worry about this at all. The cat has to actually ingest the plant itself for it to be toxic. You just stepping on the plant should not transfer anything toxic. It is up to you though how you want to handle this. If you want to be safe then yes, rinsing your shoes off thoroughly with a hose and leaving them out of reach of the cats is a good idea.
