My pregnant cat is overdue with green/bloody discharge. Is she okay?

I think that she may need a C-section or there is a bad uterine infection. If the black color is green tinted it may indicate placental separation which is life threatening to the kittens. The greenish discharge can indicate early separation of the placenta, and it's not considered normal in cats. It could be that one of the kittens could have separated early from its placenta, and I would take Mia into the vet now to get checked up to be safe. Best of luck.

A greenish vaginal discharge that persists after the kittens have been delivered can indicate a retained kitten, and/or a retained placenta (although retained placentas are not usually a problem in dogs and cats). Regardless of the underlying cause, this is not normal - I would strongly recommend taking Coco to the vet for an exam as soon as possible. He/she can take x-rays to see if there is still a kitten inside her or if something else is wrong. She may need treatment with antibiotics or even surgery to remove her uterus depending on what is found.

Hello. As long as she seems to be acting fairly normal, this is probably just a normal discharge as the cervix begins to dilate. She should start delivering kittens in the next 24-48 hours. If not, please see your vet to rule out the possibility of an infection. Hopefully all is normal & Twilight will have a beautiful litter soon. I can certainly understand being worried! It's not normal for a cat to have a brownish fluid discharge, either pregnant or not. If she is pregnant, this can be a sign of a spontaneous abortion, or it can be a pyometra. Either is a medical emergency, and I would take Kiara back into a vet immediately.

The symptoms you described are common in cats in heat. But that isn't possible if she is currently pregnant. Discharge can occur before going into labor, but if it is greenish, she needs to see a vet ASAP. It's also possible she has an infection in her uterus or a false pregnancy. Only and ultrasound or x-rays with a vet will be able to tell which situation is going on.
