My pet mouse has a respiratory infection. How can I help her at home?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Mouse | Female | 0 lbs

I have a pet mouse that I believe has a respitory infection. She is making chattering noises, is a bit lethargic, and her nose and eyes are a bit more moist then usual. There aren't really any vets in my area that work with pocket pets, so getting her medication is difficult. I do have a 500mg amoxicillion capsule I could open up and use the powder from, if I had any idea of what dosage to give her, or if there is any other medicine or anything I could use. Thanks for any advice!

Enrofloxacin would work best in these cases. Any veterinarian can diagnose and treat such a presentation, which is likely to be caused by a respiratory tract infection/inflammation.
I would strongly recommend a check up at your local veterinarian.
