What's causing my kitten's skin issue despite using medication?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 30 days old | 2.6 lbs

Female kitten, not sterilized, 3.5 months old, never go outside. Has skin issue since 3 weeks (see pictures here attached). Follows a vitamin cure. We use Funginox Solution Ketoconazole 2% on her to prevent fungus.

It is most likely ringworm but it could also be skin mites - those are the two most common dermatological problems in kittens. It is impossible to diagnose either of those just by looking at photos. I suggest you try to get her to a vet when you can so they help figure out what is going on. For now, continue with the Ketoconazole.
