Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vaccine induced rabies is VERY rare. If it does occur, you typically see limb paralysis. This can begin in the vaccinated limb 7 days after vaccination with modified live virus (MLV). However, the MLV rabies vaccine is rarely used. If your cat was vaccinated 16 days ago, she should be fine. If she has any symptoms you are concerned about, I would take her to see your veterinarian immediately.

Hello. If Beauty has had a rabies vaccination in the past 6-7 months, usually given at 3-4 months of age, then she should be protected from rabies. Keep in mind that no vaccination can claim 100% efficacy 100% of the time, so we do need to be cautious if she was bitten, or she bit someone. But for the most part, she is considered fully protected. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
