Why is my cat weak, throwing up white foam, and has black feces?

Black stool is concerning as that may indicate a bleed in the upper GI tract such as the stomach. If he is also vomiting and has had this ongoing for several days it would be best to seek out veterinary care in person ASAP.

Hello. Thank you for your question. I know this must be very scary for you. Generally seeing black stool is a sign that there is blood in the feces. When it is black in color, that means that the blood has been "digested" or is coming from somewhere internally. This is something very serious and you are already seeing some of the issues that will arise. Your cat is probably weak because there is a significant amount of blood being lost. This does appear like blood, but I would first want to know if he/she ate anything that was red colored. If she/he did eat something red colored within the past three hours, then I'd assume this is causing this appearance. If not, then it's likely blood, which indicates an esophageal or gastric ulcer. Bleeding from these locations can be dangerous, because they can lose a significant amount of blood in the stomach and intestines. For this reason, we consider this an emergency and recommend a visit to the vet as soon as possible for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. It's not possible to say exactly what is causing this, as there are a few different possibilities. One possibility is that your cat ate something they were not supposed to like medication, a chemical (i.e. antifreeze), or a plant (i.e. lilies). Vomiting is often the first signs of an exposure to a toxin, so I recommend checking if it's possible for your cat to have eaten anything other than the normal diet. It sounds as Lucah is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

I can see that the vomit has blood in it, which can be caused by stomach ulcers. Dark feces can also be an indicator of digested blood in the stool, which occurs with ulcers. Ulcers can be caused by a number of underlying conditions such as chronic foreign bodies, diet, or kidney disease. The sneezing can be a sign of pain or unrelated to the vomiting (concurrent upper respiratory or lung disease). I recommend having your cat seen by a vet right away. Pale coloured stool is very concerning (especially if her diet has not changed) as it indicates that the normal process of digestion and excretion is not being completed. Much of the normal stool colour comes from waste products of digestion including bile pigments and pale faeces can be a result of blockage of bile and/or reduced liver function. I would recommend a vet check and possible blood tests or ultrasound as soon as possible

These are very concerning signs - bleeding from the mouth can be a sign of a serious illness such as heart disease, severe liver or kidney disease, a clotting disorder, or severe dental problems. Combined with the fact that he is just laying down and pooping without realizing it, I would be very worried that he has a serious, life-threatening problem as this is extremely abnormal in cats - it often indicates that they are so weak and sick that they don't notice or care that they are soiling themselves. I would recommend getting your kitty to an emergency vet right away - he/she can do a thorough oral exam, and may also need to do blood work and x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what can be done to help him.
