My cat keeps vomiting, fussy, won't drink. When to see emergency vet?

As your cat has not been eating for a few days now as well as not drinking, this is an emergency. Cats can get liver disease from not eating for more than 2 days and not drinking will make them dehydrated and feel even worse and less inclined to drink and eat. Vomiting bile can be a sign of chronic or acute pancreatitis. There are some diseases that will have to be ruled out (can be done easily with a blood test), such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism and dental problems. I think taking her to an emergency clinic is definitely warranted.

This would cause her to vomit, not eat, and not drink. Other causes include a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. Given the risk of a pyometra and the fact that she isn't eating, drinking, and keeps vomiting, my recommendation is to have Ellie seen by a vet immediately. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated. She likely needs a shot to stop the vomiting, and IV fluids for hydration along with any other treatment the vet deems necessary. If she does have a pyometra, spaying her is one of the recommended treatments. Please take her into a vet ASAP.

Hello, sorry to hear about Cheeto. I would watch him for continued episodes of vomiting or if he develops any lethargy, decreased appetite or diarrhea. Things we worry about with sudden onset or persistent vomiting in cats include dietary indiscretions, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), ingestion of foreign material, obstruction or a mass which is probably the least likely in a young cat. If his vomiting persists or gets worse overnight, or if he develops any other signs then I would definitely bring him to an emergency clinic. This is very concerning. Your cat may be suffering from pancreatitis, hyperthyroidism or severe gastritis or an intestinal blockage, By now this is an emergency and you will need to take your cat to a vet right away. Do not wait until the weekend or after , as your cat may even get sicker considering no food is being held. This can cause hyerlipidemia in addition to her illness and is life threatening. It sounds as Mukie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
