My cat vomited moving worms. Are they dangerous? What should I do?

Yes, this looks like tapeworm segments. They get tapeworms from eating rodents or fleas when they groom themselves. People can't get tapeworms from cats. Make sure you treat her for fleas and your veterinarian can prescribe medication for the tapeworms. These are disgusting but not as serious for her as some other intestinal parasites. Those pictures are fuzzy but I agree it looks like those could be worms. Cats will vomit up round worms (most commonly) which can spread to humans. I recommend to play it safe and have Mouse examined and treated by the veterinarian. He should be checked for other types of worms as well that you cannot see. He will need treatment for the worms and I also recommend to discuss getting him on a monthly preventative to help decrease the potential for future infestations. I’m going to guess that this is a roundworm. It can be difficult to identify adult worms but it is usually much easier to identify eggs in a stool sample. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian for a stool analysis and to get the appropriate deworming medication.

The worms in the photo appear to be tapeworms or, less commonly, pinworms. these can cause impactions and diarrhea, especially in kittens. Unfortunately, I am unable to prescribe medication for Coco without having examined her. However, your veterinarian can quickly determine the exact type of parasites present with a fecal sample and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Because many parasites are transmitted by fleas, it is important for Coco to be on a monthly flea preventative. You are not giving the correct medication. If you are seeing tapeworms, small flat worms or rice like segments near the anus, then you need a prescription dewormer from your veterinarian. I recommend taking a fecal sample in and have them look for parasite eggs under the microscope. Then they can make sure they give you the proper medication.
