Is the VDI-TK test reliable for testing feline intestinal lymphoma? Is there a high likelihood of false-positive or false negative result from the test? Thank you for answering the question.

Hello, and thank you for your question. I looked into this topic for you. The general consensus among specialists at this time is that the VDI-TK test is still an unproven method of screening for lymphoma in all species, including cats. The few oncologists who routinely use this test primarily do it once lymphoma has been diagnosed by traditional methods, as part of monitoring response and remission status.
To properly diagnose feline lymphoma versus IBD, the best method still lies with blood testing, ultrasound, exploratory and biopsy.
I hope this helps!
