This will definitely be a difficult adjustment for him. I would be sure to have a lot of toys and things for him to climb on and explore to help keep his environmental enrichment up. You may also want to get some feliway diffusers and sprays to help keep him calm and hopefully make the transition as smoothe as possible. Feliway is a cat pheronmone which helps to calm cats. It doesn't work on all cats though. If he doesn't take well to it, be prepared that you may have to rehome him to give him the best quality of life. Feliway is a cat pheromone to help with anxiety behaviors like this. You can also look into trying a calming chew like composure or the Rx version composure pro. I would also tried to have 2-3 litterboxes throughout the living area if at all possible to help with territorial spaces. If these don’t help, i would talk to your vet about starting your cat on an anti-anxiety medicine like amitriptyline. I hope this helps and he starts to be more like himself.

Once you get to the new house, it is recommended to restrict her to one room for 2-3 days and it is also recommended to not let her outside the house for two weeks. keep the cat carrier open in the new house as it will be a comfort zone for her during the first 24 hours. try bringing as much from her stuff as you can to the new house (water and food bowls, scratching polls...).

There maybe something about your new duplex that is causing stress" the smell, the sounds, the size? I would try to enrich her environment: play with her, get cat trees for her to climb, get beds she can hide in, get shelves you can put at a window so she can watch the birds (get a bird feeder) and I would consider getting the Feliway diffuser to help calm her. Ultimately if time and the above do not help her settle in, you may need to discuss anti-anxiety medications with your Vet. Which I would anticipate would be temporary.
