My 7-year-old cat is suddenly secluded and aggressive. Is she sick?

Based on your description, I suspect that Miss Peach was injured on that side or is just fearful aggressive due to your niece chasing her with the swords. This should subside on its own if it is behavioral and if it is a soft tissue injury such as bruising then it should resolve with rest. If there is no improvement or this worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Hello, any unusual behavior should be checked out. In her own way, Prudence is trying to tell you something is not right. She may be in some pain or discomfort, have an infection somewhere, or just sense that something else is amiss. I would recommend having some blood work & a urinalysis done so that nothing is missed. Since it sounds like this is a recent behavior change for Zora, I would be very suspicious that she may have an underlying medical problem causing her aggressive behavior. There are a number of common problems in older cats that can cause behavior changes like this, including hyperthyroidism, chronic kidney disease, or even pain from arthritis. I would recommend taking Zora to the vet for an exam when you are able to - he/she can do blood work if needed to check for these issues. If a problem is found, it's likely that it can be treated with medication to make her more comfortable and hopefully improve her mood as well :)

Okie is gorgeous! Having a physical exam and screening bloodwork and a fecal exam and urinalysis to rule out a medical cause for his crankiness such as an ear infection, diabetes, kidney/liver issues, hyperthyroidism etc. would he best. Using a Feliway mulicat calming pheromone plug -in several rooms in your home along with daily VetriScience Composure chews or oral liquid may help significantly with stress related aggression /inappetance. That's my isolate themselves if sick, anxious or stressed, or do to aggression or bad interactions with the other pets. If stress or inter-cat relationships are to cause having food and litter boxes in multiple rooms may help. Feliway pheromone diffusers can also help. If unsure it may be helpful to isolate her yourself in another room to see if dynamics change and also to check her eating, drinking and litter box habits of you are unsure if that is all normal. Aging related issues in senior pets can sometimes cause the symptoms you are seeing, as well as underlying illness or even pain from issues such as arthritis. A good first step would be to bring Pete to your vet for a senior checkup, which may include additional tests such as bloodwork or X-rays, to rule out any health issues that could be causing the behavior changes. Senior pets can also get dementia and other issues much like people can. If he checks out healthy, speaking with a trainer or veterinary behaviorist in your area may also be beneficial as they may be better able to assess and address the issue in person.

There could be a reason for Aspyn's change in behavior. Sometimes a sudden change behavior can be a sign of a medical illness. I think it would be a good idea to have her seen by a vet for a health check.
