Why is my cat suddenly meowing excessively and showing distress?

Vomiting and increased vocalizations can sometimes indicate pain or distress. This could be due to GI upset, underlying illness, etc. If the symptoms continue, worsen, or you see additional issues such as increased vomiting, attempting to urinate or defecate but can't, loss of appetite, etc, then it would be best to seek veterinary care ASAP to find the underlying issue.

IT is possible Norman is trying to communicate with you he is not feeling well. I would recommend continue to monitor his behavior. If he is eating,drinking and using his litter box well I would just keep a close eye on him. However if he stops eating, has vomiting/diarrhea or continues to vocalized I would take him to a vet for an exam. Sometimes a vet can find an issue on a exam that we cannot detect at home.

With that kind of vocalization and restless behavior, I suspect he may have a urinary tract infection. I recommend getting him to see your vet as soon as possible, Male cats are especially prone to becoming blocked and unable to urinate. If it isn't urinary, he still may have some underlying medical condition that is making him uncomfortable and restless. Your vet will do an exam and labwork to determine what is causing this behavioral change and how best to treat it.

It could be related to stress associated with the move to your new home but could also be caused by some dementia due to his age. It could also be caused by something like hyperthyroidism or liver/kidney disease. If it continues than he should be examined by your vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run blood-work to help diagnose and then determine if treatment is needed.

The change in Snowy's behavior could be related to hormones since she is not spayed. That would be my first guess. She could also have issues with her retina causing vision troubles as well as potentially neurologic disease. If Snowy has not been examined by your veterinarian already that would be the next step for her.
