How to help my cat stop screaming at our new golden retriever puppy?

Hi there! Betty sure sounds shaken up by her new housemate. There are some natural supplements you can try to help alleviate her anxiety. Zylkene is a natural supplement that your veterinarian can prescribe. It can be very helpful in these types of situations. Another product called, Canine Compsure, is also a natural supplement that may be helpful. I would try these products first. They should help with Betty's anxiety with her new friend. If those don't work, you may want to call a trainer in to evaluate Betty's behavior around the new cat. They may have some advice as to how you can help her work through it her issues. Try a pheromone product, such as Feliway spray or plug in diffusers, to decrease any anxiety associated with the new pup. If possible, increase playtime and activity just before bedtime. You can also use a product called NaturVet Quiet Moments calm treats plus melatonin for cats and see if this helps. It's possible Sunny is either stressed or frustrated. Cats will lash out in either of these conditions. I have an almost 11 year old Persian who has been deaf since birth, and he does this all the time. I think the reason why they do this is because they want your attention or need something, and because they can't hear themselves make noise, they unintentionally do it extremely loudly. Personally I sleep with ear plugs at night, so I don't hear him at night. I do tend to investigate during the day when I hear him, and it usually is that he wants food. I leave food out all the time for him, which helps, but sometimes he just wants love so I give that to him as well. Make sure he always has plenty of food and water, and give him lots of attention as needed. Angelo will probably hate the dog vest, but you can try it. You can also try Feliway, it's a pheromone diffuser that releases calming pheromones. I hope this helps!
