Is my cat's stomach surgery incision healing well after 2 weeks?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Exotic | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

I am just wondering if her incision is ok. It has been two weeks since her surgery. She had a ball of tape removed from her stomach/intestines. It was not red the two weeks she was in her cone. I didn't take cone off until 2 weeks after surgery (Friday).

From what I can tell it seems to be healing well. If she is showing any signs of sickness or the incisions don't continue to improve, get her in to see your vet for a recheck. Put the cone back on if she starts paying too much attention to her incisions and overgrooming. It is likely to still be itchy for some time as it heals.
