Why is my cat's stomach making gurgling noises? What can I do?

It could be Prince has an upset stomach. I'd feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts a couple of times a day for a few days. If this helps, then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the noises continue on the bland diet or he develops other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or anorexia, take him into the vet. I hope this helps!

Hello, sorry to hear about Mo. You can allow his GI tract to rest by removing food overnight and then starting a bland diet (plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken) for 3-5 days. If Mo develops any vomiting, diarrhea, or a decreased appetite, then he should be evaluated immediately by your veterinarian. Potential causes for this included a dietary indiscretion, ingestion of foreign material, inflammation of the bowel, pancreatitis, and less likely liver or kidney disease. It's possible Oreo could have an upset stomach. Picking up his food and then offering some bland food such as boiled rice and chicken can help with minor GI upset. If the gurgling continues or he seems ill, a vet visit is best to rule out more serious illness, parasites, etc that could cause stomach upset.

Consider a recheck with your veterinarian. An abdominal x-ray may diagnose a foreign body or even an obstruction. Since Rocco isn't eating, supportive care may be indicated to prevent dehydration. You can try feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with 1 tablespoon of food and gradually increase the amount if he eats and holds it down. A bland diet can be plain white rice mixed with one of the following: cottage cheese, cooked/drained ground turkey, cooked/drained ground beef or boiled boneless/skinless chicken breasts.
