Kitten sprained leg: Do I need vet meds or is rest enough?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 0 lbs

my kitten has a sprain in her front legs,i have taken her to a vet but he has given her a tonic"inactal pet" and "taxim o" which i feel like is a anti bacteria liquid. i feel like i should just give her rest food and massage with limiting her movement for a week. What are your opinions on this doc?

It looks like the inactal is a vitamin supplement and the taxim is a broad spectrum antibiotic. If the other vet was treating for a suspected infection in her leg, then the antibiotic will help. I recommend giving the medications as directed, but rest for a week is also a good idea. Katie doesn't know what rest means so making sure she rests will give her time for her injury to heal. Kisses to Katie!
