This last week my cat has been sneezing and had a lot of clear discharge out of his right eye. He's about 5 months and we just moved into a room whose former tenants had a cat and did not properly clean the room before I moved in. My guess is he's caught something from the previous tenants' cat. His first week, he was very active, but now is less interested in play and more interested in attention, he seems to be in some discomfort to me. Will this pass like a common cold for humans?

Thumper could have a respiratory infection, which could be caused by bacteria or a virus. Respiratory infections are common in kittens, but I would recommend taking him into the vet for an exam, as he may benefit from some medications to treat his symptoms. I would take him into the vet today or tomorrow for an exam.
