My cat seems skinnier, I feel her ribs. Is this normal or vet time?

No, it is not normal for her to be losing weight and for you to be able to feel her bones. She could be hyperthyroid so she should be examined by a vet for a thyroid test. It is a common disease in older cats and causes weight loss. Your vet can prescribe a medication to treat, if she has an elevated thyroid level.

From what I can see, she doesn't look too thin, however, if she has suddenly lost a significant amount of weight, I recommend getting her seen by your vet right away, as that could be a sign of diabetes, or hyperthyroidism, especially if her appetite is increased without weight gain or with weight loss. Like humans, cats' bodies change as they get older and this may be the case. If you didn't have senior bloodwork done last month at her appointment, I suggest getting it done to check for any underlying medical condition that could cause her difference in weight.

Overall being thin could be a result of an underlying metabolic, endocrine, or gastro-intestinal issue. (such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes,or inflammatory bowel disease) It would be best to have her evaluated by a veterinarian, and consider having blood work and urine tests run to see if there are any abnormalities. Without seeing Mister in person, I can't say if he's too skinny or not, but it would be a good idea to have him seen by a vet this weekend. You didn't mention Meliu's age or whether she is having any other symptoms, so it's hard to make any specific guesses as to exactly what might be causing this. In general, some possibilities would include intestinal parasites, chronic pancreatitis or inflammatory bowel disease, a food allergy or intolerance to something in her diet, chronic liver or kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or even cancer. As you can see, it's a very long list! Treatment will depend on what the underlying problem is, so I would recommend taking Meliu to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to. He/she can do some diagnostic testing to help determine what is causing her weight loss, and get her started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.
