My cat, 7 years old, has a 2 inch scab on her back which feels like her hair is matted. It has even there for about 2 months now. I have no money Togo to Vet. What can I do?

If her hair is matted then she will need to have the hair trimmed with a pair of clippers. She could develop a skin infection if the matted hair is against her skin. You could also bathe her and see if that helps.

This sounds like it is an infection either from trauma or allergies since it is falling off in chunks. You can try to gently brush or clean the area since it does not hurt her. If it is not improving then she may need antibiotics from a vet
