If it is bacterial, antibiotics are needed. If it is fungal, he will need anti-fungals. Viral disease typically self resolves, but you'll need to provide supportive care and possibly antibiotics to treat secondary infections.
Ideally, Oliver should be physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose the underlying cause and then provide the best treatment.
